Sad, so sad, soo sad...

I will not be going to the Stanley Cup Finals to watch our boys kick behind. Tickets just went on sale and I couldn't get my hands on any...unless I want to spend upwards of $500 for my ticket. *sigh* I hate the fact that there are going to be people in the stadium who could give a rats ass about the Ducks and will be filling a perfectly great seat. It's OK...I'll make my peace eventually.

It's the Weekend!! =)

OMG...thank goodness it's Friday...of a 3 day weekend! =) This has been a busy week...so busy I almost didn't have time to miss Matt...hehe...I said almost =).

The week caught up with me yesterday and I totally slept through Mokroopal dinner...sooooo sad =(. A 30 min. power nap turned into 1 1/2 hours! Oops! I was able to get some things done after waking up though =).

Stayed to hang some student work today. Yes, I know, it's Friday. Hehe...man, did the campus clear out as soon as the kids were gone! The parking lot was entirely empty when I rolled out...hmmm...maybe that means next week I should leave early =) hehe.

We wrapped up the Teacher of the Year celebrations with a board meeting recognition on Tuesday night. Another terrible photo op took place after being presented with a certificate and $100 to Borders! =) Hehe...it was worth it just for that! =) Lovie dragged me into the school office today to check out the giant life size poster of me...yikes, I avoid the front door now because I can't look at myself on the wall!! What?? It's actually pretty scary to see yourself all big on the wall!!

My apartment is a mess. I think I'm just going to tell people a tornado came through, but only hit my apartment and then disappeared. Think people will buy that? =) Hehe...I suppose I should attempt to clean and stuff...but it's so much easier to just be a vegetable. =)

Off Balance...

...is exactly what I've been feeling lately. I believe yesterday was the turning point. Thursdays are supposed to be my get up and go day because we release the kids early and I have time to get a few things done, then split. Yesterday was pro quo with the rest of the week though, a whirlwind of here, there, and everywhere. Just when you think it's over, you turn the corner and bam, something else to take care of. I rolled out around 4:20, late but enough time to meet my back-in-town for the night man. So I'm cruising down the freeway...errr...crawling down the freeway with no accidents in sight. I exit the freeway in Irvine 1 hour and 25 minutes later. WHAT?!?! Yes...that's right, traffic like that should be unheard of!! So I'm thinking...OMG, this is just perfect, it fits right with my week...all I need now is a flat tire or something. Be careful what you wish for! I'm almost there and just as I'm creeping over the speed bump...*kurchunk*. FLAT TIRE!!! If I hadn't been on my way to Matt's, I probably would have either yelled at something or sat on a curb and cried...thank goodness things are balancing out. =)

Got the tire fixed for free at Costco. Man, do I love that place. =) Had a fairly relaxing day and am soooooo glad it's Friday =). Bring on the weekend...I can rejuvenate and then...bring on the rest of the school year!!! =)

Sometimes I wish there were ten of me so I could get everything done that needs to be done and get it done well. Unfortunately there's not ten of me and colleagues point out I'm a bit on the anal side about some things...like hanging things on the wall or filling out said paperwork. I was told yesterday to "just let it go". Hahaha...=) I'm trying Barb, I am =). Little does she know, I'm continuing to fill out receipts for payments...I can't help it, I'll feel a void if I don't...shhh...don't tell =).

STAR testing begins Monday and we're all feeling the crunch. Two more days of review with the kids and it's all up to them. Two more days to pack test boxes and count test materials. Two more days to hope I've done something right this year. Two more days and then two weeks of intense testing schedules and terrible recess times. Ah...I just found out my testing committee job this year requires clean-up of materials, counting, packing and of course late nights. Note to self...don't sign up for this job next year!!

Lots of fun stuff we're planning for the kids up ahead...I look forward to fun. All the fun requires planning though, and that's starting to take its tole...my planning passion is at it's peak and I'm starting to come down. Hopefully we can pull everything off so the kids have a good time. *fingers crossed*

The TOTY celebration was this past week...hahaha...doesn't it sound funny? =) One of my students came to read a little something about me and did a fabulous job. She was so nervous and probably read a one minute speech in 10 sec! =) She informed me later, "I was sooooooo, soooooo, soooooo nervous Miss Mouri! That's why I read soooooooo fast!". My parents were a bit under the weather this weekend so we didn't make the planned venture out to San Diego...however, they were well enough to grub =). So we did lots and lots of eating...my family's favorite thing to do ;). Mom enjoyed the earrings...hahaha...she had to ask if they were real =). Thank you Sears and Kressler who took me there! =)

Just dropped off my passport application today!! =) I'm officially in the process of becoming a traveler! =) If there are no problems I will have my passport before my birthday and shall be able to explore anywhere in the world this summer. Hahahaha...ok...the passport will allow me to, but my funds are a bit more strict on destinations =). I'm looking forward to a fantastic summer though =).
