lazy day

well...yesterday I must have been much more exhausted than I thought because I fell asleep around 9:00 pm!!! I awoke just after 7:00. *sigh*

Today's been just another really lazy day. I need to venture to the store to replace Kressler's pita chips...they turned out to be a great lunch staple earlier in the week ;) and get some more toothpaste. However...today I haven't felt like doing anything except sit in front of my computer and listen to cd's. What the heck?!

I also went crazy with purchases earlier in the week, instead of doing mall shopping which I've banned myself from...I've found my shopping outlet online. Omg...I think it's even more dangerous here!!! *sigh*

Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive!!

Currently continuing to read: Black Like Me

Currently listening to: Duncan =) and the 2 Micah Green samples I've got on the computer

Currently craving: Framboise and sweet potato fries

Duncan is delightful =)

While we've had some crazy concert mishaps this whole week, and concerts just don't have quite the same appeal anymore...Duncan was more than what I expected. The Casbah was small and crowded, people were boxing Kressler in so she had dry eyes and no air, and we didn't leave the venue until 1:30. However, the music was fantastic! David Poe opened with what we knew would be good music and his stage presence was glowing. He is much like Duncan as Kressler pointed out =). Perhaps this why he is so likeable! Duncan joined him onstage at the close of the set for two songs they put together as a band...the band, when it has a name ;), shall be awesomeness.

Duncan's set did not begin until about 11:50. I must say, this was the latest start time I've experienced. Fatigue had no presence last night though...I'd been waiting for the moment Duncan took the stage again for over two years. The band took their places and Duncan, adorned in a "I blame everything on Paris Hilton" T-shirt, opened with a new song off "White Limo". He completely rocked the audience last night, much more so than I ever expected. It was grand.

Set List (as was printed):
Fantastic Toys
Good Morning
For You
Wonderwall (omitted from the performance but I think was replaced with a new song)
Ghosts
Rubbed Out
End of Outside
Start Again (LOVE! this was his opening song the first time we saw him!)
Wishful Thinking
Genius
White Limo
Reel Around
Memento
She Runs Away
Nothing Fades
Hey Cassanova

Encore:
I Wouldn't Mind (omitted, but replaced with Mr. Chess and Barely Breathing)
Fake Plastic Trees

I walked away with a set list...hooray! *sigh*
Kress and I both purchased a photo of Duncan and David Poe's CD. They SOLD OUT of White Limo though! NOOOOO! That was the oober disappointment of the night, but that's ok...I shall attempt to get a copy from somewhere! We were waiting in line to talk to Duncan and turned around to see David Poe in the doorway! Hehe...so we conversed, got signatures, took photos and had a great time. David took out his camera and took one of the three of us together also =).

I must say...the last time I met Duncan I flipped out and was a squeaking loon. I promised myself I would not be that insane creature again. What happened? I was a squeaking loon. I went to shake his hand and was supposed to just introduce myself then stop shaking. Well, instead I said, "Hi, I'm Lisa. It's so great to see you! You know, you were my very first concert ever and it was so great." All the while we are still shaking hands. Finally I realized we were still shaking and I stopped moving my hand, hehe. His response was so funny, he must have thought, omg, psycho person! He looked pooped out and slightly smiled and said wow, that's cool. lol. Then he signed my photo. I told him it was a great show, not knowing how to make that statement any more original at the moment! He replied with a "thank you very much". I inquired if we could get a picture and he replied with some affirmative statement I can no longer recall. I had all sorts of stuff in my left hand and arm so I was going to move to the other side, but he put his right arm out, so I had to reach around him with my armful of stuff...hehe...I tried not to smack him with anything. I am quite happy with the picture though, thanks to kress's photography skills =).

Overall, it was a fantastic night. *sigh* Hehe...more Duncan delights to come tonight!! This shall be the last bit of Duncan for awhile, but I shall be quite satisfied. =)

the calm after the storm

Joshua Radin...amazing. He calms my nerves and right now, I'm quite happy for that. =) The district bulletin boards are done, thank goodness for that. Someone at school is seriously confused when it comes to smart scheduling and things are CRAZY! I'll just be glad when things begin to calm down again...when there aren't so many sudden meetings...when there aren't so many bad subs...when there aren't random tests to administer and schedules to alter...when I can just teach, like in my job description. =) Many a concert awaits just around the corner...I hope they'll lift the spirits =).

*sigh* is it only monday?

currently listening to: Joshua Radin and Cary Brothers

Ahead of the game!

That's what I'm trying to do =). I've got the majority of my week mapped out and next week is a good solid skeleton so far. hehe. I have a crazy number of days in the next two weeks where my kids will have to behave for a sub...we'll see how they do. Actually, I'm sure they'll do fine, I don't have much faith in the sub population though, so I must think of activities where the sub will not have to do much teaching or leading! must continue thinking... =)
