Is it hurricane season?

The year has just begun and it feels as though so much is happening, there should be a storm headed our way!

Just started my mainstreaming class I've been putting off for the last 4 years! It's in J-town for the next 3 Saturdays. Last weeks class was my realization that I haven't been in school for a awhile and I've forgotten how much work it was! However, our professor is very down to earth, so perhaps she'll cut us some slack in regards to grading =).

Grandma has been at the hospital awaiting her third heart bypass surgery. *sigh* I was able to pop in to see her the last couple of days. She's optimistic, which is the best attitude when going in to surgery.

I've been maintaining most of my new year's resolutions so far...although I'm feeling the pressure with my current book. I've completed Runaway Jury, but I don't think that counts for the month because I was 75% done before January. I must finish The Black Dahlia by months end to stay on track...must read!!! =)

Report cards are due soon, so should be working on those.

Saw "The Pursuit of Happiness" with Kimberly last Saturday. I enjoyed it although I think I was expecting a bit more from it, probably because I was so excited to see it.

Being flexible and proactive. =) We'll see how things turn out. =)

Ducks win!!! =)

4-2 was the final score and it was one of the best games I've been to =). Our boys played beautifully and the Red Wings skated well also, which made for a close game with many scary moments. Pucks were flying this way and that way, bodies were slamming here and there, and we were screaming and yelling through it all. Our seats were a definite upgrade from those of a few nights ago =). The Ducks weren't midgets on ice, they were life size ;). Overall, an amazing win...hooray for the Ducks, finally a win!!! =) Keep it up, we want to stay in first!! =)

School tomorrow...*sigh*. I'd better hit the sack so I can wake up extra early and get things ready. I'm going in blind tomorrow...I haven't planned much or done really much work at all over the break...man, I'd better get myself together tomorrow!!! =)

Ducks lose =(

Went to the Ducks game last night and it disappointed me to the core. We were leading 3-0 through the 2nd period. With 12 minutes left in the game we should have had the game in the bag...but no. This backup goal tender has failed to impress. Giguere, we miss you and hope for a speedy recovery, in the meantime, Bryzgalov better start stopping the pucks!!! In those final 12 minutes, Columbus proceeded to score 4 goals, winning the game and shaming us. Of course I enjoyed the game, however, it still makes me sad our boys could not deliver. Let's go Ducks!!! =)

Snowboarding on Thursday was exhausting, exhilarating, and painful =). While I did not achieve my goal of getting off the lift without falling, I did make it pretty far out of the way before eating snow =). I was not yelled at this time to "MOVE!" as I typically am, so I'm making progress! =). Krisi's first time on the mountain was not at all pleasing. She was frustrated, tired, and on her butt most of the time. Hopefully after the healing, she won't hate me so much =). I took a few rough spills on the runs, once in a failed attempt at carving resulting in a sideways fall and tumble. That one took me a few minutes to recover. Other than that, I managed to stay on my board most of the time. Waking up the following morning was also not as painful as usual. Hooray =) I still have a good number of points left on my card, so I will be taking another trip up to Mountain High before season end =).

Kristin and I went to see Lion King on Wednesday. Kimberly and Andy also happened to have tickets on the same night. Coincidence? Yes =). We had better seats though =) hehe...which also came with a free program and parking =0. Years ago my family went to see Lion King at the Pantages but we had nosebleed seats. The experience is entirely different when you are sitting 5 rows from the stage. AMAZING!!! I was entranced the entire night and the ability to see the actors' facial expressions just enhances the show. *sigh* It makes me want to go to the theatre more often =).

We celebrated Kimi's birthday today. Cheesecake Factory for lunch, bowling, games, and Harima's for dinner. It was a full day =). I've discovered the luau salad is delicious, I'm not the best bowler but can nearly make 100 =), and I can now order sukiyaki and sashimi for dinner =). I'm full and sleepy now =).

My workout goal has been accomplished for the first week of the month! I did some form of a workout 4 days this week! =) I just have to keep the momentum going =).

Happy New Year!! =) ... 2007

Ah...so it is a new year we find ourselves in...and so far it is off to a good start =).

Resolutions:
* some form of a workout at least 2x's a week...no excuses =)
* cook for myself at least 2x per month (not including ramen)
* take a more proactive approach on dating
* put away more money into savings each paycheck
* add more money to my 403b
* read at least 1 book a month
* do something I've never done before =) I'm not sure what it is yet...but it'll be good =)

It feels like this going to be a year of change. For me at least =). I hope they're changes for the better...we shall see as the year unfolds. So...CHEERS to a new year of change and promise and lots of fun! =)
